My name is Ella.

I am a doula supporting women, birthing people, and families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and life transitions.

I offer calm, grounded care that integrates practical support with intuitive and embodied knowledge.

I often return to the idea that how we do anything is how we do everything. This shapes the way I approach care, presence, and attention in all aspects of life and work.

My Approach

My work weaves together physiological birth knowledge, intuitive support, ceremony, and ritual.

I support people in reconnecting with their own inner authority — their body, instincts, and lived wisdom — while offering steady, practical guidance through birth and transition.

This approach is shaped by lived experience, formal training, and a deep respect for the intelligence of the body.

Roots and Path

My roots in Andean shamanic practice shape the way I hold space: simple, practical work with energy, nature, and connection.

I began my career in Amsterdam, where homebirth and continuity of care are more integrated into everyday practice. I later completed my doula training with BiA Doula Training, supported by mentors who continue to influence my work.

Returning to Ireland has been a grounding chapter, allowing me to deepen my relationship with place, practice, and presence.

Before becoming a doula in 2023, I spent many years working with children and families in Montessori education, childcare, and private family support. These experiences shaped my understanding of care, attachment, and family life, and eventually led me toward birth work.

Experience with families

Over the past eight years, I have worked closely with children and families as a private nanny, childcare provider, and family support practitioner.

This included running a bilingual Montessori daycare, managing a nanny agency, and working directly in home environments.

Across all of these roles, I focused on building trust, supporting family rhythms, and creating environments where children and parents could feel supported, seen, and at ease.

Personal Grounding

Outside of my work, I am deeply connected to nature, seasonal living, music, art, and food.

I spend time foraging, walking in the hills, cooking with seasonal ingredients, and exploring creativity through photography and music.

These practices keep me rooted and connected to the rhythms I also bring into my work.

Let’s hear it from my clients…

  • “Having Ella with us was a game changer. We were able to better function as a team with her supporting both of us (much better than we had been alone for our first birth). We both felt calmer and I felt more confident that I could handle whatever came, knowing we were both being supported and my partner wasn’t feeling like it was up to him to get me through the birth. Ella helped make sure we had everything we needed. I felt very relaxed and in control, and I was able to handle the pain pretty well. With Ella’s help my partner and I tried different positions and alternated between the pool and the TENS machine. It was so different from my first birth, this one couldn’t have gone any better. I felt like I was actually present for it, where as before it felt like it happened “to” me. Our baby was born really relaxed, like she was ready to arrive. I know it sounds ridiculous because it’s painful but I think I actually enjoyed this one!”

  • “Ella was absolutely great. At first, when Amy mentioned wanting a doula I had to get used to the idea. After meeting Ella I liked the idea straight away. Ella has a very nice, pleasant calming presence about her. She is a good listener and makes you feel heard and understood. She really is a natural. The night before the birth, we felt it was going to happen. We called Ella when contractions were getting closer together and the midwife confirmed we were ready to go to the birth centre. Ella met us there. During the labour she was a great help, present when needed but also offered us space and useful tips. She had a very calming effect on the room. I think she is very talented and will support many woman and their partners on this journey”

  • “The appointments were exactly how I hoped they would be. Even though I had already read a lot about pregnancy and birth, Ella shared new information. We practiced positions to help relieve pain and ways my partner could support me during labour. Ella’s calmess and enthusiasm really helped boost my self-confidence about the birth. Ella is a good listener and during the appointments there was space to share my emotions. It really helped me to process everything, as (aside from my partner ) she was there almost the whole time. We did a closing ceremony which really helped me to move past the negative emotions of a challenging birth and reflect back in a more positive way”

  • I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible support Ella provided during our homebirth experience. From our first meeting, it was clear that she was not only knowledgeable but also genuinely passionate about supporting families during such a transformative time. Her calm presence and unwavering encouragement made all the difference during labor. She truly felt like an invested member of our birth team, seamlessly collaborating with my partner and me to ensure our needs were met. Her attentiveness and commitment to our experience went above and beyond what we could have hoped for. After the birth, her support continued as she provided invaluable postpartum care. She helped us navigate those early days with ease, offering practical assistance and emotional reassurance that made a world of difference as we adjusted to life with our newborn. What truly set her apart was her ability to anticipate our needs and adapt to the unfolding situation with grace and compassion. She created a peaceful atmosphere, allowing us to focus on the joy of bringing our baby into the world. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking a doula who is dedicated, compassionate, and skilled. Thank you for making our homebirth a beautiful and unforgettable experience!

  • “Ella is a sensitive person, in my opinion. From the very first moment, I could sense that she was present. I immediately connected with her. Ella taught me pain relief techniques to use during labor. Aside from our one-on-one sessions, she arranged a session for my husband and I, where she taught him pain relief techniques to help me during birth. During labor, when contactions were intense, we used the techniques, and they worked like magic - the pain of the contractions was reduced extremely, and immediately”

    Naomi

  • “Ella was so insightful. She shared techniques for me to use on different levels and discussed a clear preparation for the birth. Ella was available and very supportive. She has become a part of the birth of our son in an unforgettable way!”
